I was able to join approximately 50 students, faculty and staff of Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions here and in locations across the country who joined other students throughout Utah, the U.S. and the world in remembering Lauren McCluskey today during a moment of silence and reflection of her memory.
“Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions resides in BYU blue and UVU green country,” said Dr. Richard Nielsen, founding president of Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. “The University of Utah, where Lauren was a student, is red country. But when something like this happens, there are no colors. We are all a family of students, faculty, and staff living our lives. Today, we are reminded of the fragility of life and how precious it is. Today, we wear UofU red to remember and honor Lauren. We mourn her loss and are united in our support of her family and friends.”
Lauren lost her life Monday at the hand of a former boyfriend who later killed himself.
